接頭辞の "gli-" からは "glitter" (輝く) や "glimmer" (ちらちら光る、瞬く) など輝きに関連したものや或いは "glimpse" (～をチラッと見る)などが連想されるので、"glib" は記憶しにくいのではないでしょうか。
Wiktionary を見ると "glib" の語源は

とのことです。
"slippery" は、英辞郎 では［滑りやすい、〔滑って〕つかみにくい］などの他に［〔人などが〕信用できない、正直でない、不正直な］という意味が記載されています。
"glib" は "glitter" (輝く) や "glimmer" (ちらちら光る、瞬く) などよりも "slippery" と関連付ける方が記憶しやすいのではないでしょうか。
因みに "glib" の副詞は "glibly" ( ぺらぺらと，流ちょうに)で名詞は "glibness" ( 饒舌（さ）、饒舌であること)です。
"glibbery" という単語は存在しますが、Wiktionary を見ると

と、"obsolete" （現在は使われていない）とされています。
